Finally after a week of confusion with FedEx trying to track down our items they finally made a delivery today with the entire chassis. Here's a few photos of the two crates, it's hard to think that there's an entire car in there but there is. More photos of it unpacked to come!

Yaaay! Our C-5 Rolling Chassis is here................NOT!
So late Friday afternoon Team House of Hotrods gets a delivery which is supposed to be the 1998 C5 rolling chassis. So with much anticipation we all gathered around the truck while the FedEx driver unlocked the door. As soon as it was raised we all just stood there staring, trying to figure out where the rest of the car was. Turns out FedEx goofed and cross delivered our parts to Reno and their parts to us so after much confusion they've located our chassis and it's in route.
Def not a complete rolling chassis:

Team LenMar Motorsports Update!
I just spoke with Gaylen about his plans, he told me until they see the condition of the car and how much room they have to work with under the hood that they haven't finalized any plans yet. He did however tell me that there is some sort of Big Block in the plans and that the fuel type is open (including the possibility of diesel). They're going to fabricate and build as much in house as they can including things such as the rear end housing to save money for other items. The interior is already being drawn out and they're picking out materials. More updates soon, the cars are set to be here this week!
Team House of Hotrods Update!
I just learned that team House of Hotrods has made their first purchase towards the throwdown. They've purchased a 1998 C5 Corvette complete chassis. Check it out:
They've also locked down some sponsors from ISIS, Old Air, and Frank's Supply!

Welcome to the Outlaw Campus Throwdown!
Hotrods vs. LenMar Motorsports!
This will be an 8-month after-hours build between the two shops to build the baddest wagon possible! The cars were chosen and by a flip of the coin Team House of Hotrods will be building a 1956 Buick Wagon and Team LenMar will be building a 1958 Buick Wagon. We will be keeping this blog up to date with day by day progress including photos and videos when the time is right.
With every challenge there are rules so here's how this will go down. Both teams will receive their vehicles late this week. There are 4 major rules that they must abide by:
#1-Cars must have working a/c and heat
#2-Cars must have working power steering
#3-Cars must have working power windows
#4-Cars must have working exterior door handles (no door poppers)
House of Hotrods Chad "Critter" Mahone will be amongst the people who are "Neutral" in this contest and he will be designing the interiors as well as painting both cars. Each team will have a $15,000.00 budget for parts and they are allowed sponsors.
The judging system will be a multi-part process based on the following criteria:
-10pts will be awarded to the team who's car has the best 0-60sec time
-10pts will be awarded to the team who's car has the best 60-0sec time
-20pts will be awarded to the team who's car has the best 1/8th mile time (2 out of 3)
-10pts will be awarded to the team who's car does the best on the autocross
-10pts will be awarded to the team who's car does the best on the road course
-25pts will be awarded to each team based on the drive ability
-20pts will be awarded to the team who's car has the best interior
-20pts will be awarded to the team who's car has the best paint scheme
-30pts will be awarded to the people's choice which judging will be held at Goodguys in Oct
-50pts will be awarded to the team who's car yields the most money when sold
That brings us to the deadline: Cars must be completed by October 1, 2010 in time to drive to the Goodguys Show. This is a no trailer contest meaning that the cars must drive to and from the events listed above.
